As our first established and largest product range, we pride ourselves as being experts in manufacturing and supplying high quality surgical instruments. We work with clinicians in all areas of surgery to ensure that our instruments surpass the expectations and needs of both the clinician and the patient, with no compromise.
Meticulous product inspection ensures the very highest level of quality control throughout our production and finishing processes. Each reusable instrument we sell undergoes a series of QA and QC checks and tests at our head office in Essex, to ensure the product is fit for purpose and meets our exacting quality standards. We also work with an independent testing house (CATRA) in Sheffield and RAPRA. Our aim is to reject any substandard instrument before it leaves our warehouse. All our instruments are etched with the Timesco brand, a symbol of its quality and lifetime guarantee.
The majority of our surgical instrument range is supplied in a non-reflective matt/satin finish, however, we also offer blackened finishes and nylon insulated products for ENT and Electrosurgery
We offer an extensive plaster instruments range, each item developed to provide the highest level of performance and durability. The nature of plaster instruments requires them to be robust enough to withstand repeated heavy use; our plaster instruments are manufactured from the highest quality surgical stainless steel, are fully auto-claveable and guaranteed for life against faulty manufacture and materials.
For increased resilience, Tungsten Carbide jaws have been included on a selection of our plaster instruments. Due to their incredibly hard properties, Tungsten Carbide jaws will not wear down or blunt as quickly as normal steel jaws, even during repeated use and also benefit from being very sharp without becoming too brittle. A serrated edge is included on a selection of the Tungsten Carbide instruments to prevent slippage, especially useful when cutting synthetic materials.
Timesco plaster instruments are now available on NHS supply chain - Surgical Instrument Contract Ref: FAG 445. The range includes:

Electrosurgery is used in around 80% of all surgical procedures * (mhra.gov.uk) and is one of the most widely utilised technologies available to surgeons. Using alternating current to directly heat the tissue itself, the surgeon is given the ability to make precise cuts with limited loss of blood.
However, there is always a certain amount of risk involved when working with electricity, which therefore demands the highest quality, safest instruments available.
At Timesco, we believe clinical performance, reliability and durability are paramount when selecting the right surgical instrument for any procedure. These minimum standards are emphasised further where the safety of both the patient and the operator may be compromised due to an electric current. Our Electrosurgery instruments are built with this in mind.
We supply a full range of monopolar and bipolar forceps and cables, available in reusable or single use varieties. All reusable forceps and cables are coated with a high quality insulating nylon powder that will not crack or deform for a minimum of 40 autoclave cycles. Our single use Electrosurgery range offers all the ergonomics and performance of our reusable instruments but in low cost, single use versions.
New to our product range is our single use ES LED Pencil that has been ergonomically designed with a independently operated LED light which is positioned below the electrode fitting giving you light directly onto the area you are operating on.
- More light means increased safety
- Extra illumination eliminating shadow effects
- Fully compatible with existing electrosurgical generations
